Inventories

Conducting an inventory at the start of a tenancy is not mandatory however, it is highly recommended in order to deal with any disputes at the end of the tenancy. This gives piece of mind to both you as the landlord, and your tenants(s).

What is an inventory?

An inventory is a detailed condition report for both the exterior and interior of your property. Pictures and clear descriptions are used for every room, as well as noting the presence of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and the up-to-date meter readings.

Why should I have an inventory?

If there are any disputes between you as the landlord, and your tenants regarding the condition of the property at the end of the tenancy, you will only be able to claim back losses if you are able to prove any damage was caused by the tenant in situ. An inventory is the best way to do this, resulting in quick payments, enabling you to rent your property out again as fast as possible.
